Developmental Relationships

September 25 2019

Developmental relationships are vital for the growth and development of young people.  According to a study completed by the Search Institute, young people who experience strong developmental relationships are more likely to report a wide range of social emotional strengths and other indicators of well-being and thriving like academic strength and civic commitment.  The developmental framework includes 5 elements that can be expressed through 20 specific actions.  Theses 5 elements are:

  • Express Care
  • Challenge Growth
  • Provide Support
  • Share Power
  • Expand Possibilities

To learn more about these elements and their specific actions, I have included a PDF in English and Spanish of this framework.

If you would like tips and tools on how to implement these elements in your classroom, schedule a session with me today!
